Washington DC: "Illustrated Influence" comics-and-punk exhibit

I have several pieces of original artwork in— and co-curated— a group exhibit, “Illustrated Influence: 50 Years of Punk and Comics” in Washington, DC from September 11th to October 18th!

This show will be at Lost Origins Gallery (3110 Mt. Pleasant St. NW), featuring work by Raeghan Buchanan, Neil Burke, Cristy Road Carrera, K Czap, Anya Davidson, Jeffery Everett, Jason Farrell, John G, Janelle Hessig, Evan Keeling, John Holmstrom & Punk magazine, Shawn Kerri, Mattie Lubchansky, Sam McPheeters, Ryan Carroll Nelson, Steve Niles, Ben Passmore, Nate Powell, Chris Shary, James Spooner, Brian Walsby, and Bianca Xunise!

There will be an opening reception on Friday, September 11th from 6:00-11:00 pm which also includes a screening of James Spooner’s recently remastered Afro-Punk documentary, and a live podcast recording of Cult and Culture, hosted by Justin Pearson and Luke Henshaw!

This exhibit is a part of the broader comics-related DC events for SPX, where many of us will be tabling on September 12-13 in Rockville, MD. There will be an "Eras of Punk in Comics” panel on Saturday, 9/12 at 1:30pm in Brookside C, featuring myself, James Spooner, Bianca Xunise, and Evan Keeling, moderated by Lost Origins gallery owner Jason Hamacher.

Chicago IL: book release signing for DIANA (& SANTOS SISTERS!)

A few days ahead of the official release day for Diana, I’ll be doing a book-release signing at Chicago’s very own Howling Pages (4354 N. Milwaukee Ave.) on Friday, October 2nd. (6 pmish— exact event time TBC)

This is thanks to the generosity of Greg and Fake, whose excellent Santos Sisters has a book release on the same day— Greg reached out to add me to his event, and I’m very thankful to him and the shop for their hospitality!

Ann Arbor, MI: A2CAF

I’ll be a special guest alongside longtime comics friends Katie Skelly and Noah Van Sciver at A2CAF at the Ann Arbor District Library (343 S. 5th Ave.) on Saturday, October 3rd from 11:00am-5:00pm, and I’ll have copies of my brand new graphic novel Diana a few days ahead of publication day, as well as my other books, new prints, and original artwork.

I’ll also be giving a talk/Q&A at 3pm on the 4th floor about my process & considerations of creating a saga out of self-contained stories over the past decade (Come Again / Fall Through / Diana), followed by a signing at the Green Brain table.

Bloomington IN: early-bird signing for DIANA

I’ll be doing a book-release signing for Diana (and the expanded rerelease of Come Again and Fall Through) a few days ahead of publication date at Bloomington’s own Vintage Phoenix Comics (114 E. 6th St.) on Sunday, October 4th from 2-4pm!

I’ll also have some new prints and original artwork, in case you’re interested.

Be sure to head over to Morgenstern Books on Nov. 12th at 6pm for a talk about Diana and the entire triptych of books—looking forward to discussing it all!

Rockville, MD: SPX-- *debut of DIANA*

Once again, I’ll be proudly tabling in the DC area at the Small Press Expo— I’ll have books, prints, and original artwork for sale at table W64. SPX will feature the debut of both my new graphic novel Diana and the expanded paperback rerelease of my Eisner-nominated Come Again!

SPX will take place at the Bethesda North Marriott (5701 Marinelli Rd., Rockville, MD 20852)— Saturday 9/12 from 11:00am-7:00pm, and Sunday 9/13 from 12:00-5:00pm.

Evansville IN: Museum Geek Con

I’ll be a special guest at the Evansville Museum Geek Con on Saturday, August 22nd from 11:00am-5:00pm at the Evansville Museum (411 SE Riverside Dr.).

I will have display copies of my new book Diana (as well as new editions of Come Again and Fall Through), and I’ll be taking orders to ship out copies the following week when they arrive from the printer!

I’ll be on a panel at 2:30pm in the immersive theater to discuss what I’ve been up to.

Ann Arbor MI: Art exhibit at Vault of Midnight

I’ll have some original artwork at an exhibit to celebrate both the 30th anniversary of beloved comics shop Vault of Midnight AND the 5th anniversary of Athenaeum Comic Art—alongside artwork by Alison Bechdel, Caroline Cash, Tillie Walden, Noah Van Sciver, and more!

This exhibit will be running from July 11th-19th at Vault of Midnight’s 3rd floor gallery space (219 S Main St., Ann Arbor, MI 48104), with a reception on July 11th from 7:00-10:00 pm. Please spread the word— thanks!

Carbondale, IL: SIU Saluki Con

I’ll be in Carbondale as a special guest for SIU’s Saluki Con on Saturday, April 18th from 10am-5pm! I’ll have books, prints, and some original artwork available as well.

It’ll be at the SIU Student Center (1255 Lincoln Drive, Carbondale, IL 62901), and will coincide with a visit I’m making to SIU along with an exhibition of my original artwork at the Sharp Museum.

Orlando, FL: Original Art Expo!

I’m honored to be a special guest at OAX, a show dedicated to original artwork from an incredible lineup of cartoonists and illustrators!

OAX will be happening February 20-22 at the DoubleTree Hotel (5780 Major Blvd.) in Orlando, FL. I’ll be selling original pages, illustrations, and a handful of commissions at table A39— and as a bonus, my art dealer Athenaeum Comic Art will have more artwork of mine at their booth as well!

I also made an original piece to be auctioned off on the 21st, with a portion of the auction price going to benefit the Hero Initiative and the Jack Kirby Museum. Here it is, featuring my late, great friend and collaborator John Lewis flanked by Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler— proxy bidding is now open here.

"Imprinted: Illustrating Race" exhibition at Delaware Art Museum

I have five pieces of original artwork from the March trilogy on display as a part of the Norman Rockwell Museum’s “Imprinted: Illustrating Race” exhibition at the Delaware Art Museum (2301 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington DE 19806) from October 18th, 2025 to March 1st, 2026.

The museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10am-4pm.

My pieces will be alongside work by Norman Rockwell, Thomas Nast, Jerry Pinkney and Brian Pinkney, Arthur Burdette Frost, Romare Bearden, Emory Douglas, Howard Pyle, Loveis Wise, Rudy Gutierrez, Robyn Philips Pendleton, Zetta Elliot, and more.

After the exhibit closes at Delaware Art Museum, it is scheduled to move to the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis, TN.

I’ll be at the Miami Book Fair this year to discuss my two new books, Fall Through and Lies My Teacher Told Me.

Saturday, November 23rd I’ll be discussing Fall Through and my magical realist fiction alongside writer extraordinaire Brian Michael Bendis and moderator/editor Charlie Kochman for the “Fantasy World: Survival, Spells & Sorcery” panel, with Q&A and a signing afterward! 12pm in the MAGIC screening room (Building 8, Room 1).

Sunday, November 24th I’ll be discussing Lies My Teacher Told Me in the “Taking Another Look: Rethinking Historical Narratives” panel alongside David F. Walker, Marcus Kwame Anderson, and Tim Wendel, with Q&A and signing afterward. 2:30pm in the MAGIC screening room as well.
